Notable Achievements
The Bronberg Children’s Choir exposes its members to a wide range of musical genres. Some notable performances include:
2024: Participated in the 125-year anniversary celebration and Outreach Project of the Deutsche Schule Pretoria; received the award for Best Children’s and Youth Choir at the Legato Choir Festival.
2023: European Tour to Czech Republic, Austria, and Italy; awarded Gold and selected as one of five choirs for the Grand Prix awards at the Prague Advent and Christmas Choral Festival; Mladá Boleslav – Concert and cultural exchange with the Jiřiček Children’s Choir under the leadership of Jiřina Jiřičková; performed in Brixen, Italy, at various concerts.
2023: Legato Choral Festival and Awards (nominated for five awards); guest artists at the German Day celebration at the Ambassador’s Residence; Christmas Extravaganza Menlyn Maine.
2018: World Choir Games (Gold Diploma).
2016: Christmas Concert series with the Gauteng Philharmonic Orchestra.
Community Outreach
From 2018 to 2024, the choir participated in community outreach programs in the townships of Mamelodi and Eersterust, in partnership with the Deutsche Schule Pretoria (DSP). These programs aim to give talented young singers from disadvantaged communities the opportunity to participate in choir projects under Daleen’s guidance. The outreach program has approximately 80 children, with positive feedback from parents and the community about its impact.
In 2024, the Bronberg Children’s Choir also participated in the Outreach Project as part of the 125-year anniversary of the Deutsche Schule Pretoria.
