Our Conductor: Daleen de Kock
Founded by Daleen de Kock and Alwyn van Heerden in 2012, the choir aims to cultivate a love for music and ensemble singing from an early age. Daleen, a qualified speech therapist with over 20 years of experience as a vocal coach, holds a degree in audiology and speech, language, and voice pathology from the University of Pretoria. She has been in private practice for over 20 years. Daleen’s musical journey began with piano lessons at a young age, followed by vocal training under Sarie Lamprecht. She has sung in several choirs, including Colla Voce Youth Choir, the Pretoria University Choir (Camerata), and Singkronies Chamber Choir. Daleen is currently part of the Resonans vocal ensemble. Her 12- year study under Prof. Johann van der Sandt, a former conductor of the University of Pretoria Camerata and the renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir, profoundly influenced her approach to young voices.
